Christmas Recap

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!! We definitely did!! Our Holidays started right after Thanksgiving when we got home from North Carolina and Matt set our to put up our lights on our house outside. I LOVE coming home during December to our festive little gingerbread house!!

Next up was to put up our tree and decorate the inside of the house with Christmas Cheer!
Tree is up but no decorations yet

Our stockings hung by the, um, bookshelf with care
Our Christmas wreath Elizabeth made us for Christmas!

and finally all decorated
On Christmas eve we headed over to my parents house and we headed to the Pita Pit for lunch. After that we did a little last minute shopping and just hung out at the house. For dinner we headed up to Flipper’s Pizza for a yummy pre Christmas feast! It was delish as always and afterwards we headed to the park across the street by city hall. This park is so pretty at Christmas because they literally wrap every tree with lights. We caught the very end of a candlelight service, which we would have known about it before hand I think it would have been nice to attend. Maybe next year!

Merry Christmas Eve!

After dinner and out stroll through the park we hung out by the fire pit in the back yard. We decided to spend the night so we didn’t have to get up on Christmas Day and load everything and the pups (we’re dog sitting for a friend) and head over. We figured that way we could sleep in. It was a good plan except that at 7:30 am Matt woke up because my Mom who had been up for hours was making so much noise. He said “Your parent’s wake up way too early!” and I informed that it was not my parents but just my Mom and she always has gotten up that ridiculously early. I also said “Welcome to my life! Now you know why I can sleep through anything!” (Side note: Matt always gets mad because I can sleep though ANYTHING and never hear Lucky when he wakes up early wanting to go out, which means he always gets stuck doing it). I’m not sure what she was doing but there was a lot of banging and racket going on and when I came out to see what was up she was going back and fort between the garage and the kitchen with Christmas antlers on. Haha. When I asked why she was making so much noise she just said “I have things to do!”

For breakfast on Christmas morning we decided to try this recipe I saw on Pinterest. You pretty much make a casserole of hash browns, onion, green peppers, eggs, and let it cook over night in the crock pot so you just get up and eat. It wasn’t bad, but the hash browns did not crisp up like they should have. I might try it again on higher heat or less egg or something .

Our second menu item was also a Pinterest idea where you take these yummy cinnamon rolls and cook them in the waffle maker.
Just put them in the maker
Close it and cook like normal

You end with golden brown cinnamon waffles!

Melt the icing and pour it over top like syrup and it’s hard to resist eating the whole can!
